We've got a mostly finished mini-supplement for Rogues and the like called the Lure of Gold by Lance Meibos (Lyrax if you remember). Anybody want to finish it? He's not going to be able to for about 2 years still...

So that people can make an educated judgement, what would be required?
Is it mostly editing?
Is ther much new material needed, and of what sort?
Also feel free to answer other relevant questions I can't think of. :)

I'm tempted... but saying yes would probably be a mistake. Sorry.

I've got two months of summer holiday, but I'd like to know the same things as Darren first.

Whatever happened to Lyrax?

Lyrax, er Lance, er now "Elder Meibos" is serving a full-time Church mission currently, during which you're a lot like a franciscan monk without free time or cool robes. He won't be available till it's over.
Required? Editing and a little bit of finishing off anything that's undone, which isn't much. It's a week's worth of casual work.

I'd jump at the chance, but I have a project I am involved with which ends on the 24th of June. In the unlikely event no-one has volunteered by then, count me in.

Much as I'd love to see it finished, I'm well acquainted with my ability to devote myself to a project... I can do it, but dedication waxes and wanes a great deal.
Perhaps Morfedel would be interested, seeing as how it would address both the skills of Herbalism (for poisoning) and Traps (as in the booby variety)?

Actually I DID A BIT OF WORK ON THATwith lance back in the day, an DAMMIT!!!what is with my caps and this board, it only happens here. Can you guys toss me any hints?
Anyways, before my keyboard went berzerk, I did work on lure with lanceand would be willing to finish it up. Lance also emails me weekly and that could help.
pm me about that, and I wont need the books for that con, things were so uncoordinated with it that I didnt feel like shelling out the cash and the time for nothing. Pm me about that if you have questions.

My guess is probably wrong if it only happens here, but it looks to me like you have a sticky shift key. Does it always start after you use the shift (as with the "I" above) ?

Hmm. I'd likely be willing to take a go at it (in my not so copious free time). I've been working on a book on telecom regulation that I just sent off to the publisher but my evenings are a bit freer until the galleys come back.
E-mail me at ashampine@msn.com if you want to talk more about it.

Jake, important question: What kind of end product are you looking at here? Freeware? Economically minded PDF? Tome of great power and infinite madness?

I'd be happy to work on it, or aid others. I am an "Experiended" writer - I have a fantasy novel that is on its second draft, and hopefully will be in front of an agent by xmas, and I am also a 20+ year game veteran, as well as working on my own game system (like everyone else in the universe).
Anyway, if you haven't already found someone, and want to give me a shot, let me know. Here is some contact information:

follow-up
Since there are many willing helping hands, I'll rescind my own offer. I'm busy enough that I'd rather not do it if someone else is willing and capable.
On a different note, I've got a player who wants to start a thief. Any chance of getting an advance copy?

BL> Have very little in the way of free time right now, but I've run several Riddle of Steel games in a larcenous setting, and would be very happy to see it. I have pretty extensive amateur editing experience, and could proof-read/edit as needed. Could even write some rules.
In other words, tell me if you need something done.

Well, Jake, as much as I'd love to try my hand at it, you have seen other people's work here more than mine, so I understand if you move with someone whose stuff you are more familiar with.
Speaking of, though, time to work on that SE Taveruun territory....

I'd be happy to pay $15 or so for an electronic version of the current draft. Any chance of this?

Jake,
How many pages is the book currently weighing in at, and can you give me a brief description on what's included, I might want to buy a draft version as well...................

Hehe....
When you get a chance I'd love a brief overview. As long as you are willing to include the commerical pdf when it is released, I don't have any problems ordering the draft copy, if it will help you get more products in the pipeline.

Heh, looks like I started something.
My players have gotten quite a kick out of the draft. One of them changed his character concept from a duelist to an assassin just because he liked the draft so much.
Very interesting character -- a Tlaythian mage-killer assassin.

Hi!
Fairly new to the Riddle, but I'm loving it!
I'm with Claymore on this, I'd love to buy a draft copy. Would something like that be possible?

Ohhh....ohhhhh
Tell me tell me please! A brief overview if you can?
BTW....This might be a good idea, and I think quite a few on the list would be willing to support this endevour, buying a draft copy now for a pdf version at a later date. And if you have a almost complete draft version of Flower of Battle......I'd give my eye teeth for that! I've been waiting for that since my post lasting year asking some combat questions when you said...."wait til you see the Flower of Battle!" I've been waiting! (I put a damn campaign on hold for it :-)

i'm sure this is way late (i've been frantically finishing my first year of teaching highschool), but i'd love to give a hand anyway i can - even if that means nothing more than reading what you have and giving you feedback. never worked on any published material, but i've been writing my own adventures/campaign settings/game systems on my won for well nigh 12 years. i love ros and would be thrilled to help out. if not, i'll just join the long line of people waiting about anxiously for OBAM and FOB. especially FOB - mass combat makes me go all fuzzy inside.

Okay, I'll set something up so that several of you can pre-order a copy, but you *must* give me play-test and other advice on it, and within a week. Fair enough?
Oh, and I'm back.
