Question: I thought I had posted a few messages recently, yet when I go look in the threads, no dice.

I'm assuming that they've been moderated out; is there any way I can determine that for sure?

I suspect the reasons for moderation (if it indeed is happening and not simply user error on my part) might be tied to the fact that I mostly lurk here, and have rarely posted until I had an indie-game I wished to promote.

I'd like to know for sure; I'd appreciate someone telling me how I screwed up (content- or technology-wise), and how to actually discuss my game design without getting moderated.

Is the fact that the design qua design is already done a factor? I must admit that my primary interest is currently how to market an indie-rpp...

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Chad Underkoffler

Chad, I don't know for sure what the source of the problems you're experiencing is, but I'm certain that its not a moderation issue. Posts do not get deleted here. If there ever were a moderation issue with one of your threads the moderator would post to your thread not delete it.

Hi Chadu,

Your individual posts are never deleted. The only exceptions would be duplicate posts.

What's probably happened is that whole threads have been moved. This most often happens when GNS-stuff threads begin in the RPG Theory forum, and after it's clear that the topic is better suited for the GNS forum, I move'em there. Or if someone starts an RPG Theory type post in Indie Design.

To be sure, you can run a search on your own username to see all of your posts (or click on the link that does this in your user profile). If you're sure, after that, that posts of yours are missing, contact both Clinton and me.

Again, though, I'm the content moderator - and I never say, "Oh, this post is unsuitable," and delete it. That doesn't happen here.

Best,
Ron

P.S. Do note that the moderators for the specialty forums are entirely independent and have full, individualized policies regarding their own forums. Contact them separately to see what those policies are.

Ron: Thanks for the info.

I think I just figured out what happened: ID-10T error on my part for at least some of the missing posts. I'll assume that the ones I remember to have been posted correctly, weren't.

I hope I wasn't casting aspersions.

Hello,

No aspersions perceived on this end. All of your questions are perfectly legitimate; you posted them in the right forum, etc, etc.

Check all your software concerns with Clinton. He's really really good at that stuff.

Best,
Ron
