Character Comparison

I have been wondering about what other people's characters would be like. I want to know just how much they vary from the ones in my group. mine usually dont work so well together, and they are never very 'normal'. For instance, I don't think I have ever played in a scenario where everyone was a non-gifted human. we always have magic, and elves, and siehe. is that a bad thing? Do other people have crazy groups like that?
I would really appreciate it if people would post examples of some of their characters, so I could get a feel for how other characters are. you know, 'normal' characters.

There's a bunch of characters on the webpage you can download, submitted by our fans. They're in "Character Generator" file format, so you need that to be able to view them.

Regards,
Brian.

The PC's in my group are all mercenaries. Hardened men accustomed to killing. There are 3 men-at-arms, 2 archers/duelists and 2 Sorcerers, all Human. Their company was betrayed and slaughtered and they are all that remains. The soldiers survived because they knew that honor ain't worth shit if yer dead and the Sorcerers because, well, they're Sorcerers.

Now they're trying to make their way back to the company's ancesteral homeland, somewhere off the Weyrth map to the south. None of them has ever seen a Fey or Gol and, frankly, probably don't believe in them. The only thing these men believe in are pain, hardship and hope.

You have seven PC's in your gaming group (plus a GM, one assumes)???

Hells teeth. How do you manage that? That's a lot of voices chiming in for air time...

Truth be told, only about five show up at any time and one has been awol for about three weeks. Being all husbands and fathers it's hard to get together, but hey, at least we're playing.

Hi Charles,

Kind of. There is no Mac version, and never will be since I don't own a Mac to code it for and test it on etc (but if someone wants to buy me one...). But having said that, it doesn't do any funky hardware calls etc, so I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work in a PC emulator on a Mac.

So that's going to be your best bet, I'm afraid.

Regards,
Brian.

Group characters

Just to show how everyone's different

I won't allow my players to take magical, or non-human characters... they can roll for it if they really want to - a natural 20, followed by various roles to determine what they are.. the siehe, sorcerers, these things are rare, and most adventurers are humans put into extraordinary circumstances, so I have: a freeman accused of attacking a caravan, a young noble from the Xanarian Empire, another noble from Cyrinthmeir whose family just lost their lands due to rather foolish maneuvering by his father, and possibly two new characters, probably a mercenary captain and soldier

Hmmm...Your characters seem so normal compared to the ones in my group. We've had a half elf/half centaur, a giant death machine, an orange haired duelist, a green haired duelist(orange guys sun), a punk rock skeleton (not approved of), a two inch tall pixie, a crazy purple eyed elf with odd powers, a manufactured death machine (made with sculpture), two killer minataurs, a small group of humans (realy small), a dwarf pirate, and weird of all a 12 foot tall green skinned purpled eyed green haired tall guy. Percent magic vs. percent without magic 60% to 40%. Yea, and that's our group over time.

Ummm..... wow....

In my group I have stated that each player had best be real careful, as they are allowed one gifted and one non-human, and the non-human cannot be gifted, unless they want to use both chips... or trade in 100 insight to get an extra chip. The players understand, especially due to the fact we are running a relatively historic Renaissance campaign.

That's a good idea. However, I don't know if my group would take it that well. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to settle with everyone being some weird thing and we all for some reason get together and save the world, over and over and over again. Sigh.

I actually convinced the two players of the sorcerers to name them Goblin and One-eye. Not having read the books they have no idea why but liked the names anyway.
