Greets folks,

It has been a while since my last post, but I just finished a six page game that is light, fun, and cool. I like it -- I have had it floating around for several days, so I finished it during a lull in the EAK final draft action.

The Barbarian Invasions

Essentially, you and the rest of the players are barbarians sweeping down from the north to raid the human settlements for gold, provisions, and stuff. Unfortunately however, alien entities from beyond have arrived in silver sleek spaceships and enslaved the majority of humans. The towns are empty and deserted, but the barbarians must earn their honor somehow. So now they shall come face to face to the scaly reptile beasts that have arrived from Out There -- perhaps a few heads or items from those strange foes will bring honor to their family clan?

The game uses a simply dice pool system -- roll a number of d6s equal to your attribute and beat a target number. I always like playing games with alternate takes on death and reward too. In TBI, once your wounds drop to zero, you are dead or just out of the game. Next session, you can jump right back in back at full health. In the same way, you have honor and it is based on succeeding in your actions. The more you succeed, the more honor you have. At the end of the game, the player with the most honor gets to up one attribute for being way cool.

Only thing I can see fixing for now (other than some typos) is to give a little more player ability to improve his barbarian's rolls so they can get more honor. Maybe I could reward descriptions or fantastic stunts of prowess?

Please let me know what you think.

It's fun.

Thanks,
Nathan Hill
