Luna 0.3 Released
It's been a long time since I've posted here, but it has taken a while for me to have something to post about. Luna 0.3 is now available for download at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/outsider_chronicles/files

Luna / Outsider Chronicles (split)
Hello,
The above post was split from Reforging the Outsider Chronicles in the interest of preserving thread-history integrity.
Check out Keith's stuff, folks.
Best,
Ron

Readers, please note that Keith has set the YahooGroups so as to require list membership to read the files (it doesn't have to be this way!).

Andrew, I really don't want to make of that comment, but I realize I should probably put up a special link for those that don't want to sign up for Yahoo. You can all find it at http://heraldicgame.com/ftp/Luna_03.pdf

Sorry, Keith. YahooGroups used to have a setting that allowed non-members to download files from a group. I've just checked my groups, created a new group and I've found that that feature is no longer available. :(

I just checked the management settings in Yahoo, and it is possible to make the files available to the public. I simply prefer to have some control over who gets my work. It gives me an idea of who is interested.

Perhaps I am an idiot. But I appear to be missing something.
In character creation, the Traits may go as high as 3, 6, 9, or up depending on what type of genre setting you're at. Okay.
However, during a conflict, the rules seems to imply that all players, no matter what their Trait scores are, roll 5 dice, with the option to reroll.
So, how do Traits affect gameplay? The amount of times a player can reroll? Dice that can be added to the five dice during a roll, depending on circumstances? I'm sure the explanation is in there, I just can't fathom it.

You are able to reroll a number of dice in your hand up to the score of the Trait.
Let's say that my character wants to jump a stream instead of wading it, since he doesn't want to get his shoes wet. The GM rolls up a hand for me to see how difficult this is going to be. He rolls 5.4,4,2,1... a pair of 4s. I go ahead and make an Initial Roll (no Traits are involved in this roll.) and come up with 6,5,4,1,1...a Pair of 1s. The GMs hand beats mine marginally and if I do nothing to change that, my character will end up with one of his shoes full of water.
Fortunately, my character has the Trait of "Athletic" at +3. I can reroll up to 3 dice in hopes of getting a better hand. I decide to go for a Small Straight, and pick up the two 1s and roll them. I get a 5 and a 6. So now I have 6,6,5,5,4... two Pair. I could pick up either one of the 5s or 6s at the point and roll again for that Small Straight, but I decide to leave it alone. My character's jump isn't spectacular like the Small Straight would have allowed, but Two Pair beat a Pair, so he gets across with dry tootsies.
