IAWA NPC's returning

NPC's don't reassign dice when they come back. Since that is how damage is healed, does this mean NPC's always come back "damaged"?
I admit the times I've played 2nd+ Chapters so far, we've been playing "NPC's refresh" when the Chapter is months later.

I was under much the same impression. However, over on Story Games, in this thread
http://www.story-games.com/forums/comments.php?DiscussionID=5328&page=1
somewhere down around page two, Vincent posted back to a comment I made about recurring NPCs and their damage:
Quote
Dain: at the beginning of the chapter, assign all NPCs their dice. Recurring, not recurring, it doesn't matter. They all get a fresh set, damage never carries over for them.
Which makes the whole situation simpler.
Hope this helps.

Yep. Make all NPCs fresh at the beginning of every chapter. The game doesn't mechanically distinguish recurring NPCs from nonrecurring in any way.
