A collection of mini-quotes and links from folks who have something to say about
My Life with Master
:
"'My Life with Master' is bizarre, twisted, and brilliant; incredibly dark but, in the end, genuinely uplifting. I'm still trying to sort out what made playing it such a singular experience."

"Long story short, not ten minutes ever passed when a player didn't shout either 'this rocks!' or 'This game is F*CKED UP!'

"I really, really liked Paul's work on My Life with Master -- gorgeous."

"There's big buzz surrounding the Forge booth!...One [game] that generated a lot of excitement was Paul Czege's My Life with Master (Halfmeme), in which players play various minions of a domineering and nefarious Master. I'm going to try to play some of it tomorrow - it looks absolutely beautiful."

"I bought a game called My Life With Master at GenCon. It's an RPG about the dysfunctional relationship between a master and his minions...It's heavily narrativist, which intrigues me, but the approach seems so intense that I don't know if it would be possible to run it successfully."

Oh, sure, revel now. But later when they come with the torches and pitchforks, you won't be so smug.

I wondered what that faint, distant clapping sound was. Turns out it was people patting you on the back. Congrats, Paul. :)

From an email I sent to Paul a few days ago:
Quote
Like that's a big surprise.
C'mon, Paul, you wrote one of the best "high-focus" role-playing games in
the hobby's history. You think that goes unnoticed?
Best,
Ron

At
Conjuration
this weekend Ken Hite said something along the lines that there was no big buzz at Gen Con this year, except for My Life with Master.
He also gave a general thumbs up to the Forge and the inventiveness that can be found here.
I've posted a thread on RPGnet about MLwM and I can't wait to get my greasy palms on it.
Cheers!

Hey,
First off, I just want to thank everyone for their enthusiasm and the nice things they've had to say about
My Life with Master
. I was real careful not to publicly hype the game prior to release (despite how badly I wanted to show off each and every piece of Colin's artwork as he delivered them, and Will's cover when he finished it). I knew I couldn't possibly have been objective in anything I might write, so I pretty much just didn't say anything at all, which was hard. And so I guess I'm just real happy that people who've actually purchased the game, and read it, are talking about it, and writing about it, and planning to play.
And so, one more:
"I picked up several games, showing my lack of self-control. My favorite purchase was My Life With Master, which rocks -- I wouldn't mind playing it but it'd require committing for a few sessions. It is funny and sad and eloquent. The players are minons of an evil master, attempting to form human connections while serving his bidding. Probably the best value of the con."
Bryant, in his blog, Population One. Click for the

">full entry, which mentions lots of Forge games.

Well, it's very cool (and thanks for the link).
I'll be talking more about it after our group out here has tried it, which will be... on the 22nd.

I can't resist...two more:
"It will creep you out. No, no, no. You will creep you out....No RPG has ever given me the shivers like this."
W. Don Flores, in

">Weekly Wyrd, No.3 Vol.9.
"If the list of RPGs I've provided thus far is an example of role-playing games that explore the darker side of humanity, then
My Life with Master
is the incautious leader of them all."
