I picked up the Beowulf ashcan at Gencon, and I'm diggin' it.  I'd not had a chance to check out "In A Wicked Age..." yet, so this is my first exposure to the Anthology Engine.  I think I have a handle on the rules, except for one area.  In a conflict involving more than two characters, when does someone lose the advantage die?  For instance, on page 42, Tim's 13 doesn't meet or beat Erin's 14, and he loses the advantage.  SHouldn't he also lose his advantage die?  As the example continues on page 43, he's still rolling the extra die.  Am I missing something?

Thanks!

It sounds like a mistake to me, but, ironically, I don't have a copy to check it out in to make sure there's not some sort of extenuating circumstance. My books will be back with me in a day or so, though, so I'll let you know.

In any event, it sounds like you understand how the advantage die works, so extenuating circumstances or not, you can go forward with your understanding.
the glyphpress's games are Shock: Social Science Fiction and Under the Bed.

I design books like Dogs in the Vineyard and The Mountain Witch.
