Wow, the forums went from really hopping to almost dead.

What's on your minds about Cartoon Action Hour?

Running any games in it?  How are they going?

What do you think of the contest?

What do you think should be in the upcoming releases?

Just trying to stimulate conversation again.

...I have been running a Warriors of the Cosmos series roughly once a week for Lestasia, Skitch and Jason (Sartin).  Soooooo, in case anyone is interested, I'll detail the first episode in this post and will soon write up the later episodes.

But first ... meet the protagonists.

Sali-Ba / Pom:  Sali-Ba is an unassuming fellow who lived in the deep jungle regions of Iconia, who merges with two statues to become the giant-sized being known as Pom.

Listra:  Listra is a magic-using young woman who has been hunted by Nekrottus for years, due to a prophecy about her being the evil lord's downfall in the future.  And she also has an annoying (but sometimes helpful) demon whose name escapes me.

Vedran:  A brave sword-weilding warrior whose kingdom had been conquered by the Blackskull Empire.  More info about Vedran can be found in Jason's post right here on the forum.

Note: the episode descriptions are based on nothing but my memory.  No notes were taken.  A few minor details may be a tiny bit off-kilter.

Episode #1:  "The Vortex"

King Rastor has summoned the three heroes to the Star Chamber, where he informs them that an unexplained vortex of purple energy has formed just outside the city of Darshire.  If it grows much more, it will swallow the city whole.  Even Merlis has been unable to affect the anomaly with his spells.

The PCs hop a skiff to get to the vortex.  Side note:  the skiff driver (affectionately known as "Skiffy") will become a regular NPC in the series.
Listra's demon gets sucked up into the vortex and the others leap in after him.

They quickly find themselves transported into a large chamber where King Krab and a horde of his robots are waiting for them.  This was nothing but a trap to get the heroes out of the way so that Nekrottus' goons could assault the kingdom of Haven!

The good guys trounce the robots and Listra uses her magic to throw a bunch of them right into King Krab, burying him in a metal dogpile.  But when they go to dig him out to get info from him, the cretin is gone!

The group travel down the passage that leads them to Nekrottus' banquet hall.  Attending the banquet is Buzzard-Man, Volcanus, Monstro and Nekrottus himself.  No sign of Listra's demon pal.

The villains take exeption to the intrusion and a fight breaks out.  Nekrottus quickly captures Listra (Lestasia was feeling ill and needed to bow out for the evening) before teleporting away with her.

Buzzard-Man stands to the back of the room, watching, while Monstro squares off against Vedran and Volcanus dukes it out with Pom.  It seems to be a relatively even fight, until Vedran knocks the wall down on Monstro and himself.  Meanwhile, Pom starts getting the upper hand in his battle with Volcanus.

Vedran digs himself out of the rubble before Monstro can and delivers a mental attack on Volcanus.  This finishes off the lava-based baddy, but Vedran fails to notice Monstro getting out of the rubble pile.  A huge punch from Monstro sends Vedran flying right into Pom and they both slam into the opposite wall!  With Volcanus out of the way, the two heroes get up and manage to defeat Monstro.

Buzzard-Man flees into the adjacent room, but Vedran and Pom follow him.  Ol' bird-face is pushing buttons on a console when they enter and he tries to convince them that the console had NOTHING to do with the vortex.  The PCs notice that Buzzard-Man is standing in front of (thus nearly blocking line of sight to) a count-down mechanism that is ticking down.  A button is lit up that says "Expand Vortex".  Thinking quickly, Pom grabs a medium-sized statue and hurls it at the console.  Buzzard-Man tries to fly out of harm's way, but slams into the wall, knocking himself out.  With a loud crash, the console is destroyed and the timer stops at "1".

Suddenly, Vedran and Pom see Nekrottus on his flying chariot (with Listra and her demon in tow) through the window.  He yells, "You may have thwarted my plan this time, fools, but I still have your little friends!  Hahahaha!"  With that, he flies off and the episode ends.

I'll let Jason, Skitch or Lestasia describe the "After-Show Message" if they want to. :)

Actually, I recall *Monstro* knocking down the wall.  Vedran wouldn't be quite strong enough for that.

;)

Hmmm...the After-Story Message.  We'll let Skitch take that one.  Skitch's character had the best moment in it, after all.
I think of "science" as the rule system for the most mind-numbingly awful RPG ever. And don't even mention all the "religion" sourcebooks and their damn metaplots and how they all contradict the basic rules and each other.

This is true.  Vedran is strong, but it did indeed take someone as massively stout as Monstro to bring down the stone wall.  I stand corrected.
