Hey,

Can anyone provide the basic link to Turku role-playing, a.k.a. the Dogma, a.k.a. Elaayj ... agh, can't remember the spelling, hence need the link?

Sorry 'bout interfering with the hefty discussions.

Best,
Ron

The main Turku site seems to be gone for now (server failure, perhaps?). I found this link: http://www.thelarper.org/archivearticles/edition_1/manifesto.html

The Internet Archive has a copy of the Turku Manifesto as presented on the web on April 19, 2001

If you have problems with the above link try keying in the old URL (live.roolipeli.net/turku/school) in the Wayback Machine at the Internet Archive homepage:

The web page for the Turku Manefesto is not more. I had printed out the Manefesto at some point and if I find it, I'll let you know (I printed out a lot of shit at one point)

However, the author is here: http://users.utu.fi/mijupo/ Maybe you could email him.

EDIT: Thanks to Julie's link, I have compiles the text from the website, all six chapters of the manefesto, both forewords, the Vow of Chastity, and the glossary into an RTF document in case it gets lost again. If anyone wants it, just ask.

For an oddly related but non-rpg link...

Check out the Dogme Film Movement.  Championed by Lars von Triers of "The Kingdom" and "Dancer in the Dark" fame.

The term is "eläytyjist" it could be translated as immersionist or identifyist. It seems that the four drives which contained the site have all been destroyed (sounds dramatic).

This "dogme" and "school" movement is quite popular here in Scandinavia - in Norway and Finnland at least. It mainly a LARP thingie. I hope the Turku site will be up soon. I recommend it to everybody who is interested in RPG theory but doesn't take hime/herself too seriously. In Finnland everybody who has written something about RPG theory found his/her own school:-) I guess I will become the "Just north of the Helsinginkatu and few blocks left -school" when I present my thesis. The Turku page had also links to other manifestos and schools. They are worth checking.

It's not that oddly related. The Dogme LARP manifesto is almost certainly an imitation of Dogme 95.
