OK, so following up the http://www.indie-rpgs.com/viewtopic.php?t=6724">Call to Bay Area players thread, I'd like to propose a playtest of Chris Lehrich's "Shadows in the Fog", to be played in the Bay Area: Redwood City in particular.  I'm aiming for either the weekend of July 12-13 or July 19-20, depending on the schedules of whoever is interested.

I still haven't settled on what I would like to run, but rather than wait and create all the details myself I thought I would see who is interested and get their feedback.  My initial idea was to start with a consulting detective approach as the hook.  In this, one PC at least should be a semi-professional upper-middle-class detective.  Of course, given the prominence of magic in the game, he will be quite different from Holmes.  He may be openly magical (i.e. consulted as one consults a psychic), or magic may be a private method.

What to do?

First, send me email that you are interested, at jhkim@darkshire.org.  Let me know your preference of date and time.

Second, download a copy of the v1.20 http://auroragames.com/pdf/Rules120.pdf">alpha playtest rules.  You might want to read C. Demetrius Morgan's http://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/9/9416.phtml">review for a quick overview.

For some more inspiration, you might browse my notes on the http://www.darkshire.org/~jhkim/rpg/ripper/">Ripper game, a past campaign which also involved a lot of Victoriana and tarot.

Third, send me email your idea or ideas for a character.  SitF explicitly has group character creation, so you should not have a completely detailed individual yet.  However, you should have a position in mind: gender, race, name, class, profession, and education.  You should also have an idea about what sort of magic you are interested in.
