I'm putting together my first game, and I'd like a logo for my nascent company. The bad news: I can't afford much (but our ideas of "much" might vary). The good (?) news: I know exactly what I want, so there's no need for creating design after design, it's just a matter of taking what's in my head and making it real.

If you're interested, PM me and let me know, and I'll give you full details.

Andrew:
Why don't you just post your general idea, then the artistically inclined can start sending you stuff?

Okay, Bob, fair enough. Here's what I've been telling the folks who've responded so far:

The logo should be all one color, with no shades or screens. That color might vary from location to location. The logo is to be very grungy and gritty, deliberately somewhat messy -- very zine-esque and perhaps a slight bit cartoonish. The image is a cigarette-smoking, beer-guzzling monkey in sunglasses, lounging on an easy chair. The monkey is facing toward the viewer and angled toward the viewer's left. The beer bottle is in the monkey's left hand, and the cigarette is in his right. The image would be surrounded by a vertically aligned oval with the name of the company handwritten around the oval, and in turn surrounded by another oval.

Obviously, this isn't a normal-looking logo.
