What is the [sic] prefix?

I'm probably missing something wildly obvious, but what does the prefix [sic] signify? At first I thought it the acronym of a game, but then see that it's posted by several different posters in Endeavor?

Like I said, probably something simple I missed, but can someone point me in the right direction?
