I know this is an rpg design site, ostensibly, but do other types of design get a look in (such as the subject)?

thanks

Hello,

There's some chance of discussions along these lines, but it's best if the topic has some relevance to RPGs. For instance, people have talked about card game publishing as part of a general plan that includes an RPG. Or sometimes wargames get discussed in detail as a point of comparison with RPGs, regarding some feature or another.

As far as plain old design goes, I think that you might do better to put out a general call in the Connections forum and carry out the discussion of the game design through private email.

Best,
Ron

Not to mention other sites that may be of more use to you in this sort of design. A lot of design gets discussed on http://www.boardgamegeek.com/ And if they can't help you there, then they can probably direct you to where you can get more help.

I don't want to give the wrong impression. My impression is that a lot of designers hang out there, and design gets discussed a lot in terms of why X game is good or bad. I don't know that they discuss games under design at all (or if they do it a lot). But, again, these folks will be able to tell you where the real design talk is.
