The other day I was doing a campaign, and incedentaly we had to duel with some big man super magic dude.  My traveling companion rushed into combat, using spiritual points got a combat pool of 45ish,  our enemy was in defensive stance, and stole initiative, in this situation, if my companion were to role 45 dice, and the other guy hit first, wouldn't his sword keep going, and how much, if any damage reduction would there be?

The injury tables tell one how much dice come off the incoming attack as dice of Shock and Pain.  If he's got dice left over, he can still attack.

I reread what i wrote and realized I ddin't make sense, this might clarify it, say I swing at area IV, and you swing at area II if your hit lands first what happens to mine, becuase my sword is still moving at a very fast speed, and it is bound to do some damage, unless of couse I am completely wrong and the entire science of physics is wrong with me

Provided the guy going second is still standing and holding his weapon, he deducts the shock from his CP and attacks with the remainder of the dice allocated, if any. He can choose to take the shock penalty either from dice declared for the attack, or from any leftover dice in his CP.

OTOH, if the second attacker is dead, unconscious, or has no more dice left to attack, he misses. He may have swung his sword but it was knocked aside or whatever - how fast his sword moves is irrelevant because it doesn't connect with his opponent.

isnt zone two the arms? If its a level five, takes the arm off, then wouldnt haveing no arms impede swinging a weapon? Sure its moving hard and fast, but not accurately, and the hand is still attached to it. I would rule that maybe the guy beside you takes a level 2 wound from flying dismembered limb to the face but thats about it.
