With vs. Monsters finished and going to release in a month (print version) I've got an idea for a project that I think will be a lot of fun. The proposed marketing text gives you an idea of what it would be.
---------------
vs. Monsters Anthology
The monsters take over! In this new 40-page release some of the best minds in indie gaming contribute their most disturbing ideas to Philip Reed's horror rpg, vs. Monsters. Packed with new material for GMs and players, vs. Monsters Anthology opens the door to all new nightmares and pushes vs. Monsters out of your dreams and into your screams.
---------------
The basic idea is people would submit 2,000-3,000 word articles of "stuff" designed to work with vs. Monsters. I'll edit and publish the work, paying each contributor a token $10. The real prize is that I'll also include an ad for your game in the book. And, if you like, your article can include notes for combining vs. Monsters with your game. If you do conversion notes please make it no longer than half the article. You also retain copyright to your article. You just give me permission to publish it in PDF and print.
I'm hoping to talk Ron into writing the forword once this is finished.
Anyone interested?

Hells, yeah, I'd be interested. It be worthwhile, just as a cool little opportunity to riff on your concept and ideas.

That makes three. If we get two more then we'll take this to e-mail and get started. I'd like to set the deadline as Friday, July 23. If the material comes in that day I should have time to finish the book and have copies for sale at GenCon.

For those of us who
might
be interested, is the Deluxe version significantly different from the Demo version? What I'm trying to get at is, would an article based on the Demo version 'work' with the Deluxe rules, or have significant changes been made?

Some significant changes have been made to the system (but the biggest "changes" have been to add setting information and more options). Anyone who's seriously interested in participating in this can contact me privately for a comp of the PDF.

Sounds good.
I just finished writing 186 monsters for my game so they're still fresh in my mind.
You just want narrative stuff? or stats? d20?
Also, 2000-3000 words per monster? or for a group of monsters?

If you do some monsters just follow the format in the vs. Monsters game. And that's 2,000-3,000 words total. So with 5 people the total anthology will be 10,000-15,000 words. If you want to go a little beyond that feel free (but please try and stop at about 4,500 words or so).
No d20. vs. Monsters is its own system.

Phil, I just sent my piece to your Yahoo address. This is just a follow up to make sure that you got it.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what the other designers have been up to...

So far Jonathan Walton has been the only one to submit his ads.
I'm hoping to have this finished tomorrow so ads are needed.

Hello,
I just emailed you some monsters. I was at the San Diego Comic Convention, so that's why I was delayed in sending this to you. Hope you like it!
