Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the quick response.

First, overall impressions from the bits you have up;  First, this seems very much like D&D, and what many folks here call a Fantasy Heartbreaker.  Yes, you do have different resolution at hand, and I'm sure you'll have different spells, but from the mentioned level system to life points to the prerequsite 6 attributes, it's all very D&D, with superficial extras.

I can only reiterate that it would do well to check out other games, notably Palladium Fantasy Roleplay for a good example of a game that does something similar to what you've got in many respects.  There are innumerable other roleplaying games out there in the fantasy genre, many of whom achieve the goals you desire, and go even further than you might suspect in terms of "pushing the envelope".

A good list would be:

Palladium Fantasy Roleplay
GURPS
Rolemaster
Runequest
Fantasy Hero
Riddle of Steel
Burning Wheel
Wizards

Games that would probably be useful for seeing how far design can go:

HeroQuest
Donjon
The Pool
Trollbabe
Otherkind
My Life with Master
Rune
Universalis
Elfs
Soap
Inspectres

While I'm not recommending you go out and buy and read every game on these lists, you probably would do well to check out 2 or 3 on each list.  I know GURPS and Riddle of Steel both have quickplay rules for free download, and The Pool and Otherkind should also be available in their entirety for free.
