So, DITV is getting all the attention lately.. but has anyone played some of the other games up on the site?

My brother and I tend to sneak in a quick game of the mech-warfare anytime we have a few minutes; "i am teh roxxor" is the official battlecry of victory.

I ran a one shot of Otherkind, which I think has alot of potentinal, and I hope it eventually gets the full treatment.  The die allocation mechanic is alot of fun, the only problem I had was that it was a fairly large crowd (five or six as I recall) and once a couple characters teamed up, they were unstoppable.  It had some marvelously blasphemous bits in which players captured the local priest, and a troll appeared in the guise of the Virgin Mary to throw the fear of God into him.  The best reverse was when the overcome priest pressed his crucifix against the feet of the "blessed virgin".  Yow.

In play, I made use of the idea stolen from Pretender (which stole it's core dice mechanic from Otherkind) of making narration die "GM or Player chooses who narrates".  Also, I had to cobble some rules together to handle evil otherkind, since I wanted some dark fae in my scenario.

I definitely hope to run it again in the future.

We've played Otherkind several times on IRC, mouse. I like the idea of it a lot, and the mechanics have some cool things, but it's a little bit broken right now. I've also played *with* Hungry, Desperate, and Alone a bit on my own, but not run it. It is quite broken, as Vincent is aware. I wish he'd get around to fixing it, though because it has awesome potential.

Oh, and I did a bit of C&C one afternoon with my brother. I think we made characters and did the entrance to one dungeon.

Hiya,

I've played Otherkind and kill puppies for satan. You can find lots of play reports about them on the Actual Play forum, with quick search on the terms specifying me as author.

Best,
Ron
