This is my first design posting...
I would like to come up with a variant (or perhaps expansion) of Andrew Martin's _Token_. I would like to merge ideas from Ed Heil's _Topos_ including topoi and group ownership of characters. These changes will allow Token to be more of a story telling game, rather than only a role playing game.
My ideas for making these changes are as follows:
Each character in this game would have a pool of tokens that is started at zero, just like Token. This pool is a karmic measurement for each character. Benefits to the character take away from the pool and complications add to the pool of tokens. My idea about characters in this game is that they would change hands exactly the way they do in Topos (for free.)
Each player would have a pool of tokens starting at X. These tokens may be spent on Topoi and disbelief. I am considering the ability to give a token to an unfortunate character pool. Wonder awards would go to the player pool.
A Topos would be valued at half its cost in tokens. This cost would be paid from the player's pool. A visit to another player's topos would give the player its value in tokens from the common bank to the player's pool.
Does anyone see any holes I may have missed?
