The Utah Attorney General has published an interesting PDF on modern polygamy, intended for responders to domestic abuse.

The glossary, section on characteristics and practices, and barriers to leaving are all interesting and could provide many story hooks.

Nice one!

This one's my favorite polygamy story (though this translation's kinda Christian for my tastes, it works well in this context). http://www.bbintl.org/bible/niv/nivGen30.html

Note that on line 20 is the real crux of the matter where you could really turn this into a tragic Dogs story:

QuoteThen Leah said, "God has presented me with a precious gift. This time my husband will treat me with honor, because I have borne him six sons." So she named him Zebulun.

In my translation (JPS), it doesn't say "honor," it says "love". It's the saddest story in Torah and one that lends itself particularly well to an RPG.
the glyphpress's games are Shock: Social Science Fiction and Under the Bed.

I design books like Dogs in the Vineyard and The Mountain Witch.

Someone ought to Dogsify cool biblical stories.  It'd just be a cut-and-paste job in a lot of cases...just add horses and hog-legs.
