In the Spirit of
My Life with Master
and
Prime Time Adventures
I offer:
Universalis Sales Chart
Most of the categories are self explanatory. The Distribution Sales are all through Key20 Direct. The Third Party Sales include: RPGMall, Key20 Direct sales to customers, and any of the folks like Luke and Eero who've sold Uni at various cons.
My Direct Sales averaged about 15 per month for the first year, about 10 per month for the second, and now are about 5 per month.

It's none of my damn business, I know, but where did the shrinkage come from?

Michael I believe the shrinkage is from swimming in cold pools. If I'm wrong, tell us Ralph cause that is the weirdest category I have ever seen.

Everything about the game, from the mechanics, to the artwork, to the layout just screams creepy, creepy, creepy at me. I love it.

Heh...I'm happy just having my hobby pay for itself. GenCon on the customer's dime is a pretty nice thing to me :-)
Keith, that would be Shrivelage, another problem entirely; fortuneately one my SO knows a highly effective treatment for.
Shrinkage is, of course, a term I borrowed from retail which basically refers to stock that is no longer in inventory but for which there is no record of sale...generally due to the old five fingered discount.
I didn't have much trouble at this past GenCon but 2 years ago I lost half a dozen+ copies (either from light fingered customers, booth folks who set it aside for themselves but forgot to pay, or people handling the transactions not recording the sale properly so I didn't get paid). It was a motivating factor behind my purchase of the cash register for last year.
For purposes of my records I also included a few damaged copies as shrinkage, so where they crop up on the chart is where I opened a new case and found some unsellable copies. The printer provided me with probably 10 copies in overage so it works out in the end.

You've got to love that. My booth paid it's way last years by a combination of Matrix Game sales, puppet sales, and getting a priting job. I hope it pays for itself this year as well.

I track shrinkage and spoilage. Both are accounting terms but look at different things. With shrinkage you cover lost, stole goods while spoilage covers damaged stock, or obsolete stock. Both get the product out of the asset account of the business. Busniess expenses are good - they lower you tax burden. (I knew studying accounting would come in handy some day!)
