The monthly gaming group I meet with is six gamers, three men and three women and 3 games in and we've all really begun to bond.  People bring food to the games, lots of laughter and jokes and good will.  We've been playing Conspiracy of Shadows, pirates fighting Lovecraftian evil and its been a hoot.

But for some reason, I am just burned out on the seas.  At the end of the last game, everyone got talking about the possiblity of playing a game about Jedi and they all got pretty damned excited.  So I sent them the following proposal for a Paladin game:

My concept for the game is that it is 5 centuries or so before the prequels.  Each game would be a complete movie, making a little trilogy of our own.

Episode I The Jedi Diaspora

The Jedi Council has just decided to make the move to Coruscant, in order to better have their fingers on the pulse of the galaxy's politics.  A team of the council's finest Jedi were sent to the capital planet to clear the way for the council's arrival.

The Jedi Seer, Delphi Dra, sensed a great disturbance in the Force.  The Council has been divided in two over this issue but the decision has been made.  Jedi Knight, Yoda, has returned to his home planet of Degobah in order to meditate on the issue, not agreeing that this is the correct course of action.

Senator to the industrial planet of Malefic has declared himself an open practitioner of Sith traditions, taking the name Darth Dybbuk.  He has said
that any Jedi aggression made against him due to his religion should be seen as wrongful persecution.

Things to think about for your Jedi:

Where do they stand on the move to Coruscant?

Knight, Master or Apprentice (I'd like a nice mix)?

Human or Funky alien?

I'm not sure if or how the system will support non-Jedi.  Allow me to read it over and get back to you.  I'd love a droid and/or a smuggler in the bunch but I'm just not sure if the system can handle it.  Again, we'll figure it out.

Paka, I've never played Paladin so my opinion isn't based on much.  But it may not be the game for that concept.

Paladin is mostly about a character's internal struggle.  A 'core story' for Paladin is something like, "Hero learns about an awful threat, kicks enormous amounts of ass, but as he becomes more desperate he finds himself tempted toward evil."  This kind of thing probably works best with only a few players.  If six heroes are all having a spiritual crisis, it cheapens the effect.

I doubt that Paladin would be very satisfying for non-Jedi characters, though it should be able to handle alien Jedi fairly well.  One idea might be to structure the game as a Blood Opera: a couple Jedi, a couple Sith, and each player has conflicting goals against each other.  If anyone gets killed they can act as Spirits: the player helps RP enemies and narrate, while their dead character can give oblique hints or assist in rolling against (or for) resisting corruption.

In terms of setting--I might kick it back even earlier, to the time when the Republic was just getting started and the Sith ruled the galaxy.  (I think that's canon.)  More opportunity for ass-kicking and the politics aren't homogenized yet.
