Last night, our group ran a quick playtest of some mods (ok, heavy hacking) I did to TSOY in hopes of getting the basic framework of the system to support a SciFi adventure set in the MegaTraveller universe.

For a summary of the hacked rules, as well as the relationship map for the session, go here.

In general, the game was successful.  I'm not 100% certain how "correctly" it went (that's a loaded term if there ever was one...)  Our group is relatively new to both conflict resolution and narrativist gaming.  We're currently looking for a game that falls within those general guidelines, but still satisfies our need for "neet mechanical bits" (thus the addition of the dice tricks).

The general framework of TSOY seems to be better suited to our temperment than say, The Pool.

Wat I find interesting is that I can't really pin down why this structure works better.
