Hey,
Inspired by the

What three languishing game concepts had such potential in your mind that you wish
other people
were playtesting and discussing them, and that the designer was active currently in their development, because you're eager for a more fully realized version (no particular order)?

Well I can't speak for the others, but Literati is still being mulled over, have no fear! I'm hopefully going to be posting some more concrete rules in the very near future for full on forge discussion(how's that for vague?)

That's be (as if it weren't obvious)
Scattershot
, any of the core books, satellites, or freebies,
FRUP
from Hogshead publishing, and probably
Saturday Morning Superheroes
a cute and corny 'bidding' game based vaguely on Hanna-Barbera's
Superfriends
et alii (also from Impswitch, and I'll put it up as soon as we can figure out why we like playing it).
That makes two out of three for Impswitch (our own company); is nepotism out of place in this thread?

Hey Fang,
I too would love to see FRUP getting some development attention. Regarding nepotism, I'd hate for this to become a "play my game" thread. It's why I avoided The World, the Flesh, and the Devil in my own post, even though I consider it to be at best, half-baked, and would really like to see some someone post about having played a three or four session game. I basically had two objectives when I started this thread:
1) I wanted it to serve as an opportunity for serial lurkers to say they liked a game idea, even if they hadn't had anything substantive to say about it when the designer asked for input, and for this to maybe re-motivate some of the designers.
2) I wanted to demonstrate to designers that posting an idea is forming a relationship with the community, not just querying a database, and that there are obligations and expectations that come from it (i.e. don't post lightly, just to see, without any real commitment to a concept).
So, how about two games beyond FRUP that you're not affiliated with?

Okay, how about the Post Bros. game (preferably the James Wallis version, but really one from whomever took the rights) and Cartoon Action Hour (or is that one going into production?).

Cartoon Action Hour

Yep, Cartoon Action Hour is going into production. It's scheduled for late April release (in PDF) and late May release (in hardcopy).
It's definitely not languishing. Heck, the game isn't even published yet and the CAH yahoogroup is extremely busy. We had 473 posts in January, 263 posts in February and 95 in March thus far. Admittedly, it has slowed down some since playtesting ended, but it's still very busy. If anyone wants to join, drop me a private message & I'll hook you up.
Also, I'm very, very active in the CAH community. I'm a firm believer in being interactive with fans (for lack of a better term). Anyone on the CAH group will testify to that.
Take care! [/url]

You'll be pleased to know that I'm planning on developing Faster, Better, Cheaper more sometime this month. Don't let the "Rise Again" discussion fool you.
My three: FRUP, the Post Brothers diceless game, and Jared's "The Code", which I think could use some more promotion, playtesting, and refinement.

The two that intrigued me were Bailywolf's "unholy" Sorcerer & Supers (
http://www.indie-rpgs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1232
) and jburneko's "The Spy Who Summoned Me" (
http://www.indie-rpgs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1389
).
They tapped two of my big guilty pleasures--Smallville & Alias.

Hmmm...how about these:
Tooth & Claw
(I guy can hope)
Sorcerer in Space
(Gencon '02, right Mike?)
Crusade
(Mike Nystul's supposed follow-up to
The Whispering Vault
, which I'm sure is long dead).
There are about a dozen others, but I'll leave it at that.

Well it sure did re-motivate me. I was actually kind of shocked to see The Vocabulary mentioned as I've almost forgotten about it. Looks like I'll have to dig up some notes..

Yeah, quoting myself, bad form, I know. Regardless, I want to replace FRUP with Castle Falkenstein, now currently in development limbo. It's disappointing that the Ottoman supplement had to come out in GURPS form.

My three:
Jared Sorensen's "Sex and Violence,"
Ron's "Trollbabe" (which I know he's working on - but hurry it up, damnit),
and lastly, I have to agree with Paul about "Literati" - the coolest setting idea I've heard about in a while.
