Hey all, I just realized that I forgot to mention two things that happened at the Forge Booth.

Two guys from "Flatcon" stopped by with a few fliers, but asked that you were referred to their site:

This is a local con in Illinois, I bellieve, that they are looking to support and promote.  Could be a good gathering for you central folks. I received a few fliers, and am sorry that I forgot to pass them to folks in Wis/Illi (Keith, Matt, etc). Looks solid.

Also, a gentleman from GAMA showed up with information about their annual trade show in Las Vegas:

For only $704 to 1058, you can run a single booth to pimp and promote your games to distributors, who are of course the sole focus of the conference (they will be wandering around looking at the Hot New Games to order and keep in distribution this year).

I received about 4 folders on that conference. Naturally, I threw that shit in the mother****ing trash, but if you're interested in pimping to the "big boys" or live in Nevada and have some time to kill, feel free to look into it at the link above.

I'll probably be at FlatCon running a couple of games and just hanging out a bit. They have a pretty good rep and the folks that run the con have been responsive to e-mails and questions. I might have a booth there, but I'm not sure yet...

Actually, that's only partly true -- the focus of the GAMA trade show is to promote new games to both retailers and distributors. The distributors typically know about the "Hot New Games" already, so the game publishers tend to focus their efforts (freebies, demos, etc.) on the retail store owners at the show. Regardless, it's definitely a conference for the brick-and-mortar folks.

I may be at FlatCon for some HeroScape, but any Forgish games being run there would be a great additional motivation.

Damn.  Flatcon is only 45 minutes from me.  Too bad I already have plans that weekend.
