Hello all,

I'm prepping a town for a Swedish convention in the beginning of November, for a scenario I've called "The unfaithful in Paradise Rock". I want to spread some indie love in Sweden, so I've proposed to arrange a game of InSpectres, one of MLwM and one of Dogs at the convention.

So I have a town in mind called Paradise Rock, for a 4-6 hour time slot. As an aside, I had to google some to find a town name of Paradise + something that wasn't actually a place in the USA (like Paradise Hill, Paradise Lake, Paradise Valley), but now I don't care anymore and I like the name. If anyone knows of a place called Paradise Rock it would be fun to know, though. Anyway, I plan to have the town prepared, with "relationship hooks" on the NPCs so I can tie the PCs the players will create strongly to the town.

Here's a translated part of the text I just sent the organizers as a description of the scenario for their homepage:

"One of your brother's daughter's, your niece, is selling her body to the men in town for money. The men that pay her all have their own reasons. Your brother's other daughter doesn't want to marry the man she's promised to, without a reason to refuse him. The town's cattle have been acting in unnatural ways for the last year; the cows and bulls have found ways to get to each other during night time and the cows have calved several times."

Then there's some text on what it means to be a dog, that they'll ride in and have to sort out the trouble and stuff like that.

Now to my question. I have more characters than presented above of course, with a nice little nest of adultery and illicit sex involving the men the niece sells to and other people. The other daughter has a reason to refuse her marriage, of course. But I don't want to present the town here before the convention, as I don't want the people that'll play it to google and stumble upon it before the game. I want to know if there's anyone who wants to read through the town to see if it has enough but not too many potential conflicts, if the NPCs are interesting enough and if there's some cool connections between the characters I've overlooked.

If you're interested, please PM me and I'll PM the town to you for comments. I need the comments as soon as possible, so you don't have to bother if you're busy right now and, say, tomorrow. On the other hand, if you scan the town and say something, it's always better than nothing. Thanks in advance!

Hi Jonas,

could you link to the convention? I'll be doing something similar in Denmark in April and perhaps we can help each other out here.

Best,

I've sent the town to the organizers, so I don't need any more help. Thanks!

Jonas!

If it's any consolation, you aren't the only person I'm a slouch to.

Sorry.

Hello,

The con is called Borås Spelkonvent (Borås Gaming Convention, but their page is obviously in Swedish). They expect about 500 visitors and it's their 23rd annual con. The menu link "rollspel" on the page will take you to the descriptions of the RPG scenarios, and there you'll find the three games I'm running. One of them is Dogs.

Thanks, that is sweet. Three games, people, three games. I think it's awesome. BSK right now is the perfect venue for pushing indie games. I hope you'll have a great time.
