Help With Kicker Thread!

Hi all,
I hope that this is not an abuse of anyone's good will, but I have spent the better part of an hour searching this forum for an old thread and have had no luck at all. I guess my web fu sucks mightily.
Ages ago (before the Forge switched over to this new format) I had this thread saved as one of my favorites, but when the Forge made the switch all those bookmarked threads disappeared. So I am hoping someone can help me.
The thread in question was one in which someone posted some profound misunderstanding of kickers (erroneously believing that since the kicker was player created that meant that the player had complete control over every aspect of the kicker, such as what the personalities of any people named in the kicker were like, etc.)
If I am not simply hallucinating this, Ron stepped in and said something to this effect: "whoah, whoah, this is all wrong. Where did you get the idea that the player has complete control over all of these things? In wiriting the kicker, the player tells me (the GM) that this is what is important to him or her, but doesn't get to say how the kicker is going to work out or how these relationships are going to play out since this would be playing before play."
That at least is my admittedly fuzzy memory of Ron's reply. Does anyone know where this thread can be found? Any help would be really appreciated.
Cheers,
Eric

Hi all,
Just thought I would let you all know I found the thread (so you can stop searching).
I am an absolute idiot. I was searching the Adept Press forum when I should have been looking in Actual Play.
Here it is if anyone's interested:

No, thank you for pointing to that thread :) I can't believe I missed it in the first place. When you are prepping for or playing Sorcerer, you can't get enough of that stuff. I am even re-re-reading the Art Deco threads :)

Per,
Those Art-Deco threads are absolute gold. I know that I am immensely in Jesse's debt for asking all those questions in Part 2, as well as for Ron's repeated clarifications that the backstory doesn't matter fuck-all except as a way of putting pressure on the player's own Kickers.
One of the crucial moments (at least for me) in that series of threads was the moment when Jesse quite honestly declared that he didn't see how the hooks embedded in the kickers would result in more than a single session's worth of gaming. There is a load of rich goodness in that thread about why the player's first few responses to the conflict set up by the Kicker does not equate to Resolution of the Kicker
TM
. It's all there if you read real close.
Eric
P.S. Although I stand by what I said above, I have been half-tempted to write up a thread about why regular player response to the Kicker does not necessarily correspond to Resolving the Kicker. While it is all there in the Art-Deco Melodrama threads it takes a lot of work because many of the insights are scattered across a number of posts. I know that as a newbie I would have loved to have it all spelled out in a single post, so I have half a mind to write it up to help out the new kids. [Not that I would ever direct someone away from those Art-Deco Melodrama threads. I think they are the very first place to go for most issues related to
Sorcerer
prep].
