What's the highest number of active players that have ever worked in a PTA game? How many more audience members (a la those audience rules) could fit in?

The Belt is running with six players. I dunno if there's anyone bigger out there. I don't think I'd want to run bigger with a comedy; a drama show might be able to pull it off.

Overtime had 6, as well, and was a superb game. The only concern is that, in a large game, you need a long season.
