my resignation from the forge

yep, i'm leaving the forge.  i find the atmosphere here untenable due to Ron's totalitarian position.

then i wrote this email:

i just wanted to say something in this private email... i'm disappointed in you.  Ron, you let your emotions get the better of you and you became the A-hole.  i was attacked and will feel unwelcome at the Forge until you post an apology on your site.

i was just trying to save that poor girl a lot of grief.  i softened my opinion as much as possible (and i'm perfectly entitled to my opinion about a person's raw talent/ability).  your protecting her from potential negative feedback is irresponsible.  what's going to happen if she writes her game and non-sympathetic gamers read it?  i consider myself a pretty good writer and i've been fucking crucified time and time again.  what would happen to her?

and received this an hour or so later: 

Hey Darrick,

It's an easy answer. At the Forge, only one single person's judgment of
courtesy matters: mine. If you can't accept it, then you shouldn't be
posting there.

Whether you, or anyone, "feels unwelcome" at the Forge based on my
moderating, is of no concern.
