I had, for pretty much the entirety of the 27th, a problem accessing the Forge website. From early morning (after gaming but before bed) on until late night, I kept running into problems where my browser either couldn't find the Forge site, or said that it was not responding. When I did manage to successfully reload the site, it would have the same problem when I attempted to access any other part of it, sometimes refusing entirely to access the page, even with multiple Reloads.
This only happened on the Forge website, and I had absolutely no problems with any other websites I accessed during the 27th.

So, did anyone else experience this, or is it just me? I noticed a decreased volume of posts today, so I'm thinking that this is not an isolated incident, but I'd like to know. Also, if this was NOT an isolated incident, I'm curious if anyone knows the reason for this.

Also, when I accessed it again, a little after midnight, I had no appreciable lag or problems. Just an odd phenomenon I thought I'd inquire about.

Happened to me too, so it wasn't a "just you" phenomenon.

I know the reason - well, not actually. But, the Forge is hosted with a web hosting company instead of a dedicated server owned by me, so there may be fluctuations in bandwidth and performance that I have no control over.

I've thought several times about hosting it myself at home - I have the bandwidth and computer space - but I don't think I want that responsibility. A well-placed swipe by my cat could shut it down for a day, and that doesn't seem too smart.

No complaint here about the status quo. Every site I visit often enough to notice has bad days.

Glad to know it wasn't just me.

Clinton,

Don't sweat it. Normally the Forge has excellent connection, so I'm not complaining. Just when something is this noticeable, I like to know if I'm the only one or not. Call it a quirk. I'm not complaining in the least, as I think you've done a great job here with the Forge, and other websites I've seen of yours.

Off-topic question, but something I just remembered.. There is a link in the Articles page to an article you wrote, supposedly (according to the URL) hosted at your site, but I haven't been able to read it since coming here. What's up with it? It would be the only article I haven't read at least once.
