Hello,

I have more than 10 years of professional writing and editing experience with more than 25 years of gaming experience. I don't edit on the side, I do it for a living. If you need professional editing or proofreading, I'd love to hear from you. My rates are affordable and I enjoy working with RPGs.

Thanks.

I could be blind, but I'm not sure I'm seeing RPG companies listed on your client list on your website.  What games have you edited in the past?  About how long does it take to complete an assignment (feel free to present this in terms of wordcount, as a range of times based on the number of 'speedbumps', etc)?

Thanks for the reply.

You are not blind. I am attempting to break into the RPG industry as an editor. My past editing experience has been mostly with trade magazines, though I did edit The Nearside Project (http://www.hammerdog.com/Nearside%20Project.htm) before it was sold to Hammerdog Games. Because I was able to successfully build a business writing about and editing topics I'm not interested in, I thought I'd try to expand into RPGs, which I enjoy reading and playing.

Assignment completion varies with the assignment and the general state of the project. It may need rewrites or just a quick proofing for spelling and grammar errors. Developmental editing (working with the client to research a topic and develop an initial concept) will obviously take much longer than copyediting or proofreading, which is why I provide price and time quotes based on individual assignments after I see a manuscript. There are just too many variables to provide a useful time estimate before seeing a particular manuscript. I can tell you that I pride myself on fast, quality service and I have never missed a deadline.
