Finally followed up on Mistworld, as I slowly rework it to be ready when BRP comes out.

Appreciated the questions I got last time and the advice, including a number of e-mails.

Regards,

Steve

BRP = Basic Role Playing, Chaosium's upcoming release (already through playtesting), kind of a RQV/StormbringerIX/Call of Cthulhu VII rules superset.

Mistworld has been both a stand alone and a BRP compatible system since the first BRP/Runequest I came out, in the mechanics, though the magic system of matrix magic was dramatically different and the setting a bit surreal.  Honestly, the idea of the magic system (how often have you ever had a character out run a spell or dodge behind something in a game?) and the setting kind of drove the whole thing.  Really a small item of whimsy, all in all.

But, I got some artwork for it, which in combination with some comments I got by people following up on my Shattered Norns setting I mentioned here, got me moving, eventually.

Heya,

I thought that's what you meant.  You know that Mongoose has just released an SRD (basically an OGL) for the newest version of RuneQuest here: http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/pdf/rqsrd.zip

If you're looking to get started on your game right away, you might try looking at that.

Peace,

Thanks, but I've decided to go with Chaosium's BRP rather than Mongoose's RQ.  Appreciate the thought though.
