Advertising Sales Reps Needed,

The Guild of Blades Publishing Group is looking for commissioned advertising sales reps to help us sell a growing volume of internet ad inventory for our Empires of History Online Gaming Network. If you have print advertising sales experience that will be regarded as a plus as a number of print advertising ventures will also be entering production in the near future.

Most ideal would be candidates with previous ad sales experience in both the online and print arenas. The Guild of Blades is establishing the initial foundations of its ad sales rep structure at this stage so we are most interested in persons that are willing to start small in a part time capacity and grow with our network and ad programs as they expand. Persons that have both previous ad sales and territory management experience will be given top priority, but all candidates will be considered. As the Guild of Blades expands its team of ad sales professionals we will be looking to groom our initial team members for territory and special client manager psotions.

If you are interested in this opportunity please send resume and/or portfolio of current representation projects to dowrie@guildofblades.com along with appropriate contact information and suitable times for us to contact you.

Ryan,

You've been a forum member long enough to know this is total spam. It doesn't have anything to do with the independent publication or play of pen-and-paper role-playing games.

No replies to this, please, everyone.

Not true Clinton,

There are two ad sales projects we are gearing up for that both involve our Worlds of Heroes & Tyrants Role Playing Game. Due to our experience and existing connections to the internet ad sales arena we have recently decided we would launch a new business model for the WHAT RPG game line. We now plan to place the entire content of the new 2nd Edition rule booklet on the internet for free. Only this time its content will be in HTML format on a large number of web pages and that will be funded by advertising sales on those pages. We're not only going to put the core rules up online but are planning on putting extremely detailed world settings there as well, eventually drilling down to the individual city, city block and building level. We're talking about thousands and thousands of pages of RPG materials here, all for a table top role playing game. All online for free...and we'll offer to sell that same material via PDF or Print compiled in more easily read and portable formats for users who want access to the material in a form other than a multitude of web pages.

And since we have decided to implement this alternative, ad supported, business model for our WHAT RPG, it also means we can put plans for our free distribution of the WHAT Introductory edition en mass, program back on the table. Since as we develop our ad sales team we might just be able to get the ad sales necessary to make that project a go also.

Ad sales professionals are absolutely as necessary in marking this model of RPG content distribution a success as are all the open calls for artists and other freelance talent often sought on this forum...

Hi there,

Ryan - Clinton's a moderator and the co-founder of the site. So when you disgree with a judgment call of his, please do not post a "not true" reply in that thread. That's not cool. You can get in touch with him by private message, cc'ing me if you'd like.* We're both pretty reasonable at that point.

I confess to being puzzled by the service you're providing and what you're asking for in this thread, so I won't add my judgment one way or the other. Right now, the issue concerns how to respond to moderation, and also to the fact that a moderator did close the thread. So - to be clear - do not post in reply.

Best, Ron

* same goes for people who disagree with me and appeal through private message; they can cc Clinton. Not a bad idea.
