If only one hero is involved in a simple contest does he automatically get a glory point for having the highest score among the heroes?
If you call on an Oath to force someone to position, or to heal you, does that cancel the Oath?

On your first question:

So I guess yeah, if he is the only one on his side of the contest he automatically gets the invested strife in glory.
On your second, yes calling on an oath to force postion or heal (or a helping die for that matter) makes the oath go away.
