So I'm working on putting together a demo kit for my game and I'm wondering... how many kits should I bring? One? Many?

I bring two for each game. One of them is a backup, or in case someone else is able and willing to run a demo the same time I am.

I have one for each game and they stay at the booth. Whatever you do, make sure you have one self-contained kit that can live where people can find it when you are not around. Also teach me how to demo TABAW and I will do so aggressively.

Jason: Will do! Thankfully I'll get to go to the demo-fest after all. Thanks!

Make sure it's in a self-contained box or folder and is clearly marked, because there will be a huge pile of debris, personal dunnage, and demo kits behind the booth if the last two years are any indication. I've been unable to find demo kits a couple of times.

You haven't centrally coordinated demo librarying at the Gencon booth, then? That's what we did at Essen two years ago: a score of uniform folders large enough for demo materials, clearly marked per game. Makes the "demo library" more attractive-looking, too, as it's not a pile of trash.
At Finnish conventions I do the same thing with large envelopes. I print a picture of the game in question on the envelope before the convention so it's easy to find the right demo from my folder. As I'm usually the main demo man at those events, I carry a pretty sizable menu of these envelopes in my bag.

No, there's been no library. I'll see about bringing some extra large manila envelopes this year and we can give it a try. It's obviously a good idea!
