True.. He's not a duelist, after all.. Imagine him, instead, in this context...

You're a criminal, on the run and hiding in the city. You've noticed the tall man who appears to be following you, so you quickly duck into an alleyway, hoping he didn't see you. Unfortunately, as you're catching your breath, the end of the alleyway is suddenly blocked by this large man.. and the quarters are a little too close for you to use your longsword with any efficiency... and he's drawing a shortsword.

"You're wanted dead or alive, so it matters little to me. Lucky you... You get to choose."

I liked the uniqueness of it.  Thats a great reason too...very utilitarian...no flash.  You should include that in the description.

Garabond

History: Garabond is a member of the same celtic raider clan as Lyrax and Flaxil.  He isn't one of the more successful raiders, unfortunately for him, but he is one of the more successful ladies' men.  This never earned him a good standing with the other raiders, but Garabond never cared enough about money to even try.  He left Angharad with Flaxil, and has since met several noblewomen.  The most remarkable of these is the Baroness Christine, who at least equals Garabond in social ability as well as beauty.  Garabond has also taken over some land and rules it under Flaxil, but only so long as it pleases the Emperor Uglub.  So far, he has done well, and the casinos he is building should generate a decent amount of tax income for Gelure.
