Universalis is now available

Universalis is now in print and available for purchase.
After a successful Gen Con launch, the full print version is available from
http://universalis.actionroll.com
The price is $15 plus $2 S/H.
The book is an 86 page, half-sized, perfect bound, soft cover with art throughout.
The website is just barebones right now...you can get a view of some of the content we'll be adding over the coming days and weeks, but the paypal link is active. If paypal isn't an option for you, contact me by PM and we'll make other arrangements. Also contact me for overseas shipping.
For a limited time only you can view an older version of the cover on the site. We'll soon be replacing it with the final cover we decided to use shortly.
The older threads in this forum from its playtest days have been locked, but are available for review for folks who'd like to see a bit of the game's development history.
For those who participated in those older threads, many thanks. The game is much better as a result of your participation. In fact, you'll find it is much faster playing and more streamlined than any of the play test versions you might have seen. We went through the rules with a scalpel and the game really zings along now.
Shortly we'll be posting up some actual play summaries from various demos and playtests and you'll see first hand some of the cool stories the game has enabled. When you play your own games, we'd love to have you submit similiar summaries to us for inclusion on the site.
Keep checking the site over the rest of this week as we add more content and be sure to let us know what you think.
also, be sure to check out our art contest
here
Inspired by an earlier discussion of "how to pronounce Universalis"
Ron Edwards of Adept Press is sponsoring the "Universe Alice" contest.
A $50 prize goes to the artist who can best capture "Universe Alice" to be featured as our site mascot.
Many thanks to Ron for the support.

I just heard about Universalis from RPG.net GenCon postings, and am intrigued.
Are there plans to sell through local game stores, or is this currently envisioned as an Internet-only thing?
(Apologies if this has been discussed before.)
Thanks --

Greetings Sben.
Currently there are no plans for retail distribution for the game.
Although I never say never, stranger things have happened.
Right now the book is only available from our website.

Just got my copy yesterday. My, but that was fast. Think I ordered on Friday.
Very nice book, gentlemen. My congratulations. At first glance, the examples of play alone do a tremendous amount to make the system accessible, and the basic rules don't look like brain surgery. I can't wait to try it out -- in my copious spare time, that is.
Best,
Blake

For those who're not aware, we've been interested in getting Blake to try Universalis for quite a while with his group. Here's hoping it happens sooner rather than later. Still, we understand that his x-games group has an illustrious set of games on it's plate, and they'll get to us when they get to us.
:-)

It is possible that a PDF version will be sold at some point in the future. It is one of the options we are looking at for when we've gone through the current print run. There are no immediate plans just yet.

There's some real interest in Universalis in my group. We've got a Dying Earth test to finish, then it looks like we want to playtest My Life With Master, and then the informal poll says... Universalis.
Looking forward to it.

Blake

Just got my copy this morning! Fantastic work!
This is what I love about alternative press in general. This is a work of passion, completed with love and care, and totally accessible in every way. I can contact the creators and expect a response because they aren't flooded with thousands of such letters. I can ask questions and expect responses. I can even become involved in the project with the good graces of the creators.
Long live indie in all its myriad applications. This is a killer book.
