Paladin: Comedy Knights

When I was at a SF con in Minnesota, I saw a comdey troupe called "Soylent Theatre", "A Theatre Troop Made of People". They did a series of sketches on this idea: "We have two favorite things. Comedy, and Star Wars. So, we decided to combine them by thinking: What if Star Wars wasn't about a mystical energy source called the Force, but a mystical energy source called the Funny?"

And, so, I present to you the Comedy Knights.

"The rubber chicken is the most prized possession of the Comedy Knight."
"I see we cannot finish this duel through our knowledge of the Funny alone."

Back-drop:
Think Star Wars, Episode I/II era, but a lot more light-hearted.

Organization, faith, and charter:
Same as the Jedi, but done with a wry sense of humor.

Minor
Never engage in black humor

Fuck 'em if they can't take a joke (alternate formulation: always mock the humorless)

Never pass up an opportunity to make a wise crack (unless it would consitute an act of Dark Funny, like black humor)

Major
Never be a straight man.

Never get angry, it's all in fun (exasperation is okay)

Unbreakable
Never permanantly harm someone in the name of a joke.

Arms:
The rubber chicken. As a weapon, it's -1 die... cancelled out by the Comedy Knight's Arms ability.

Powers:
- stun someone with a snappy one-liner
- defuse a violent situation with a joke
- perform amazing pratfalls and similar stunts without getting hurt
- anything seen in a Star Wars film, except it has to look like it was done on a $10 special effects budget by a fan

I had to get that out of my head while I was thinking about it.
