A piece of advice I've heard more than once is that when writing, you should never attempt to be your own editor.  Sounds like good advice.

How do you go about finding an editor of professional skill, if you don't have the resources to hire one for part-time work, and don't know one that you can ask favors of?

Any and all advice will be appreciated.

The Connections forum here at The Forge would be a good start. :-)

I have offered to edit people's games before and would be glad to edit yours.  I have no professional experience but I was known as one of the two best editors in my college writing class.  (The other was my wife, who edits my work.)

D'oh!  Wrong forum.  Thanks!

(Although I did search the entire Forge for the keywords freelance editor, and very little came up.)
