Complete notes on rendering monsters. What else does a game need?

Without ever having looked at the Hackmaster for more than 45 seconds while i flipped through the book, i've gotta say the system doesn't go far enough in it's complexity, or capability for munchkinism.

FATAL...now there's a game worth paying for. :-P

Man I so hate the Sell me threads on RPG.net.  I so just want to go into one and say "NO.  Do your own research fool!"

Any game that has an Appendix detailing how to charge and punish your dice is okay by me.

Two words: http://www.kenzerco.com/images/rpg/hackmaster/ndeep.jpg">Erol Otus.

Though he seems to be carrying some bitterness or something that's showing in his artwork...likely from when he got shoved aside by TSR in favor of Clyde Caldwell and Larry Elmore about the time the Dragonlance stuff started coming out. Can't really blame him.

I see those threads as being a form of doing the research.  I find them helpful, because (when done right), they draw out the articulate fans of a game that are able to lay out the strengths and weaknesses of a game.
