Hello,

As mentioned in the Demoncon II thread, the little con here in Chicago is on!

The date: Saturday, May 24

The place: DePaul University campus, Chicago, IL

The time: 10 AM to 6 PM, with eight two-hour gaming slots (two "lines" run in parallel) and open-play welcome as well

If you already plan on being there, post here and say so! There's still room to sign up for an official play slot too.

Best,
Ron

I'll show up!  Is this a pay-thing, or one of those Commie things?

Let me know if you need me to bring anything (like games, dice, booze, women, men, small animals...)

Dav

(Edit: By playing the link-game, I have seen that it is one of those Commie things... which is fine.  I will still go, but don't expect me to be wearing any red!)

Totally a commie thing, actually. Bring dice and other gamer fetishes. (Oh wait, I just remembered whom I was talking to. Belay that, Dav! Cancel! My client didn't mean that ...)

Dav, if you want to run something, like Obsidian or Violence Future, just lemme know.

Best,
Ron

I'll run some Obsidian demo thing (like a two-hour slot worth).  I don't feel that Violence Future is conducive to demo-play (it kind of requires a bit more commitment from players and GM, in my opinion).  I may bring along some free games to hand-out (stump for the Unfortunate Destinies thing).

AND, I'll try to bring you a copy of the Daemon Codex!  Oooh, goes to editor next Monday, really have to get typing on it!

I'll even bring some other gamer people along... maybe some fetish people too!

I'll be there. And I'm still debating what to run. So if you plan on attending and have a preference before then let me know, Suggestions so far, are Universalis, and Sorcerer.

By two "slots" I believe that Ron means that there will be two oifficial games going on at once, not that they will get to run for eight hours. Right Ron? That's a little confusing in the reading.

Here's how it goes: picture two tables. From 10 AM until 12 noon, each one hosts a game (different games). Then from 12 to 2, same thing. And from 2 to 4, same thing. And finally, from 4 to 6, same thing.

So eight separate games get played.

And all around, of course, various pickup games are being played as well.

Mmmmm....

I might be able to make it.

It could be much, much fun.

Ron,

I'll be there.  And, as last year, so will my buddy Mike.  I'm trying to convince some others to make the trip from Champaign to Chicago.  We'll see how it goes.

I have a challenge for Terry if he's going to be there running CoC. I want to play the same reporter character. And I'm going to try twice as hard to get him killed. Terry's challenge? Can he keep my character from dying?

I have to play fair, and not do anything OOC. He has to play fair, and not use GM fiat to ensure that the character gets away.

See, I did my damdnedest to get killed last year (only way to play one-shots). But somehow Terry managed to save my character's bacon. I'll not let that happen again! I'll strive to use genre against the GM in an attempt to ensure a grizzly death for my character.

So, up to the challenge, Doc? :-)
