Poenz, I live in Amarillo, Tx, used to be Lubbock. You are in austin?

And I have to agree with him: Aggies with swords... or chainsaws... or, well, anything.... :::shudder::: :)

Hmmm.... I could have sworn that there's a group in Austin, even if the A&M group isn't one-and-the-same. Grrr...

If it comes back to you Jake, let me know.

There used to be a strong SCA presence, (may be still for all I know; Steve Jackson was the Baron of Bryn Gwlad [sic] here for a while in fact), so I'm sure there are those who would be interested, but unless there are skilled trainers in the area, I would be dubious of "playing at swords" with a group of eager aspirants.

And yeah, Morfedel, I'm down here in Austin.  As the saying goes, "If you have to live in Texas, then Austin is the city to be stranded in."  I'm ready to jump, though; the Pacific Northwest has been calling for awhile now, and I intend to check it out real soon.

Ack!  Another thread where I've gone way--WAY--off topic.  Heck, I don't even remember the topic for this one!

We were discussing the concept of strength making you a better swordsman. ;)

Perhaps we should hop this to a new thread and leave this one to its original devices?

Hey, I might be in Austin for a couple of days this  fall or winter during my days of working in New Mexico.  Maybe a mini TROS meet might be in order.
