My favourite topic, rules questions regarding combat :)

Does weapon length affect in any way the reflex contest if both combatant throw red?

Specifically this question comes up when a knight (with a sword) is charging at a pikeman, or if the knight has lance, etc. I can see the guy with the shorter weapon win the reflex contest and Beat the long weapon, but if both weapons are thrusting, I'd say the longer should strike first.

Was it so that thrusting weapons against swinging gained +1 die to the reflex contest? Should longer weapons gain similar bonus in some cases?

Seems reasonable to me, at least in the case of thrusting weapons. On the other hand, it can sometimes be easier to get past the point of a longer weapon because they're a bit slower...so maybe not.
