I know that using TRoS to run games in the Dune universe has come up a few times.

I was just wondering if anyone had got anywhere with an adaptation? I'm going to have some free time in about a month and was going to work on it but I was hoping I could stea...er...build on other peoples work.

Cheers

I remember reading about a TROS rules in Fading Suns game.  I think Fading Suns is a Dunesish "everybody has a forcefield" kind of futuristic game but I'm not sure.

I'd like to know how they handled laser guns, stun weapon, grenades and especially forcefields and space combat ;D

i was working on a Riddle of the Dark Sun... but the races presented in the dark sun setting, proved to be very very hard to put in TROs, and remain somewhat balanced...

Well then, stop worrying about balance.  :D

i could... but then having a thri kreen walk around within TROS, isnt exactly what i call fun..

sure it could be entertaining... as the creature would need to split his combat pool...

it could be done, and still kept balancing (which IS important)....

i'll have to read over my DS setting and see where i go

If the races are for players to use can you use the Priorities to balance them? Just make them a suitable Priority, such as A or B. Then a character cannot be a powerful race and have good Attributes or Proficiencies or whatever.

the problem there, is that with the numbers of races in DS, you cant just give them all A priority

theres half giants, thri kreen (preying mantis creatures), Aaracokra (vulture people) halflings, humans, elves, dwarves, Muls (half dwarf half human) pterran (lizard people).... i think thats about it...

so 9 races.... i think for sake of argument...elf, dwarf, and mul should be one priority

not sure about others
