Sorry if this counts as cluttering the board, but I just ordered Universalis and I must say that I am pretty excited about it!

Nah, free praise is always welcome ;-)

It'll count more if you're still excited after getting and playing it :-)

It would be less "cluttery" and more market research oriented if you could say what's got you so excited. How did you find out about the game? What was it that turned you on about it? Have you played before, or are you just going off of something you heard?

I'd be curious to know. OTOH, it's  just as cool if you want to leave it a mystery. It's neat just to see the idea spreading by itself. :-)

I am really excited as well.

I heard about Universalis here on the Forge, which I got to from a friend's high recommendation.

I am excited because I hope it will allow myself and my roleplaying group to tell better stories.

I base this entirely on hearsay gleaned from the Forge, your website, and Chapter One.

Regards,
Will

I heard about it through the Forge. I've been looking for something for a group of friends of mine that is easy and fun to play. They are all very creative people but have a hard time playing long games (both in the time actually played and the length of the "campaign"). Universalis seems like just what I need. Besides I've been meaning to branch out and play different games and this is as good as any to start!

And no I haven't played before, but I am really looking forward to it.

I have a question.

About when should I expect my copy to arrive? I ordered it around the 18th- 19th of September and it has yet to arrive.

I ask this mainly because I got a notice on my door saying UPS had stopped by to drop off a package and because I wasn't there had left it with my apartment office. However when I went to pick it up there was no package there. Could someone have stolen my copy of Universalis?! <gasp>

Anyway...I'd just like to know if my copy should have arrived by now and if I need to call UPS (or do you even use UPS?) and see whats up.

Thanks

Hey MW,
I'm writing this remotely while on vacation, so I don't have access to my shipping records, but I do remember shipping a copy to Austin and it should have been either in the 9/26 shipment or the 10/1 shipment (dates pulled from memory here).

It would have gone out first class through the USPS so whatever that UPS package was, it wasn't Universalis.

If you don't have it by Monday 10/13 (when I'll be back from vacation) let me know.

Thanks Ralph, I had gotten a little worried that something had happened to it on the way down here. I was afraid I was going to have to storm the UPS building to get my book.
