Ok, perhapse a dumb question, just something i was having some trouble enterperting.
On page 74 of TROS it says when two people attack at the same time. There is a contested roll of reflex. Ok, no problem. But does that mean that just the one attack lands? Or do you both just hit eachother one after the other(which didn't make much sense in determining who goes first.).
On the next page it says under buying initiative, that if two people attack at the same time, you can buy initiative. So which is it? reflex or buying initiative? Or can you try and buy initiative if you lose the reflex role?
It says the loser of the test for initiative can then attack unapposed if he still has dice left after shock and if he isnt dead?
I think that's all my questions about this, probably not but it's enough for now, lol.

In the case of a simultaneous attack, make a reflex roll to see whose blow lands slightly earlier. This does make a huge difference, because of course if the first attack means that the other person loses CP through shock, he can lose the CP from his pool but if that's empty he loses them from his attack so the slightly salower attack is often nullified or reduced to a mere scratch.
Buying initiative is for when you're going second. Either because of the situation above, or simply because you don't have initiative but you decide to attack instead of defensing. Buy initiative and then your low lands first, with all of the benefit listed above.
Clear as mud? :-)

Huh, I've been doing it in reverse all this time, taking the CP penalties out the incoming blow and
then
out of the remaining undeclared CP. Learn something new every day. :)

Actually, I let the player take CP dice from wherever he wants, but 99% of the time, he takes them from the unallocated dice first so his attack will still go off and hopefully smunt the guy who just smunted him.
