Is anybody from here planning on being at GenCon next month? I'd love to play in a game if there are some demos going.

The only people I know of who are going are Alexander Cherry and Chris Edwards. Alex is a player in my TRoS game, but isnt likely comfortable enough to actually try to run a game of TRoS. He'll also probably be fairly busy pushing Fastlane, but you could definitely give him a try. As for Chris, I don't know too much about his gaming preferences, as I've not had many chances to game with him on Indie Net-gaming.

Hey, I'll run a game a day if someone flies me out there!

I'll be going.  I can't believe that in 20 years of gaming I've never been to a con, but this one's so close I just gotta go.  If anyone wants to try to get together for some gaming I'm in.

Jake, where are you living now?

I'm about 45 minutes southeast of Nashville, though that's a temporary arrangement.

(I'm not really going to be pushing Fastlane - I got no booth, and no mad advertisement skillz.  That said, I'm probably not going to be running Riddle either - I'm signed up for a number of games already, although I'm not sure what's planned for after-hours.)

For those interested in buying Jake a ticket, the cheapest Dec 10 - Dec 14 flights I've found from Nashville TN to Orange, CA is $270.

I want to play Riddle of Steel at GenCon SoCal.  I was really depressed to see no TROS being run.

I'll put up $25 of the airfare, maybe we have enough people interested in playing ?

If anyone wants to fly me to SoCal GenCon as well, I'll run five games a day :-)

Of course, your ticket would be a *tad* cheaper than mine...

Well since showing off was brought up, I can fly for free from say, anywhere to anywhere else. One of the perks of having a father in the aviation field that has free flight benefits for the family :-)
Dallas to say, Brian's house in New Zealand. $0, round-trip.
Except the fact that I'd have to fly on either a Boeing 747-400 or a Boeing 777(with 200-400 other people) for 14 hours.... and that we'd refuel in LA...
And I'd be going to the con were it not for work, school, the upcoming game here in town... etc.

I figured that was worth mentioning.
However, I do not get free buddy passes... so don't ask.

You should get your dad to start running TRoS sessions on his flights. It'd give people something to do, and no one ever complains about not getting any sleep when they've been playing TRoS. Jake can teach him how while he's flying him to GenCon.

So, you could come down here, and then I'll doctor your passport and fly back as you for the Con (My wife Mandy will let you sleep on the couch, I'm sure).

Then, after the con I'll fly back down as you and you can fly come. Flawless!

Sooooo.... Brian, mate! There's little chance your family come over on one of the penal ships, is there? =)

(as an aside, I am aware that more criminals were sent to the US and Canada then were sent to Orz/NZ)
