I have been playing this one for a few weeks and it is promising - sorry this is an ad+review but it is what I could find on the subject:

Deliria: Faerie Tales for a New Millennium
The acclaimed urban fantasy
From
GAMA® and RPGA® Award Winner
Phil Brucato
(co-creator of Mage, The Sorcerers Crusade, Kindred of the East, and Bastet)
“Deliria is the only the second gaming system that left me open-mouthed with wonder the first time I read through it, and the first one I've ever seen that gets Faerie, paganism, urban fantasy, and all sorts of other wonderful concepts right… Wonder awaits in Deliria, and simply put this is the best system I've ever seen to back the story up… 5 Broomsticks (out of five)”
— Dagonet Dwer, newWitch magazine
“Deliria is a cross between Neverwhere and everything I've been missing from most RPGs dealing with faerie… a lyrically written game, perfectly named with great art, lots of extra material, and a wonderful setting that resonates with this reader… The art alone is worth the cover price.”
— Lisa Padol, Games Unplugged Magazine
“Deliria is one of the most innovative and entertaining experiences I have had in a long time. It brings to mind the writing of Neil Gaiman and Charles De Lint, or a modern-day version of the Brothers Grimm. The artwork is lush and really adds to the presentation. It's no wonder Phil Brucato was widely considered to be one of the best writers at White Wolf. Highly recommended.”
— Neil Zawacki, author of
How to Be a Villain: Evil Laughs, Secret Lairs, Master Plans, and More!!!
Live the Revolution.

Well, that's the scoop folks - I also like the very adaptable magic system and the opportunity to on all engines, from pure narrative to pure dice. Kinda cool :)

Wow. A bunch of quotes by people I don't know, a list of awards that mean nothing to me, and zero discussion of any game design or mechanics.
Thanks for nothing. I can't wait until they invent a way to punch people over the internet.

actually Phil is someone you should watch. I do not know that I would call a $40 hardcover an indie game generally, but we may be surprised.

Hi Morningstar13, and welcome to the Forge! The game does sound interesting, but your post is inappropriate for this forum. Indie Game Design is more for designers to "talk shop" about their current products. No big deal, we have a "no harm, no foul" policy around these parts.
We would love to hear about your play experiences with
Deliria
over in the
Actual Play forum
, if you'd like to share them.

Oops. I guess I forgot that policy. Sorry MS--I was in a crap mood this AM.

actually, i've been seriously considering buying this book, since it is written by Brucato and stuff. and saving money is a better impetus. i just wish io could walk into a store and buy it rather than getting it from online. i like to have the thing in my hands.
also, i'd like to point out that, since this was posted in the wrong forum, Ron will most likely swoop in like an angel of death and kill this thread, which i agree with whole-heartedly i just thought it was kind of weird that iwas going over my moneys yesterday to see if i could afford the book and today there's a stupid couplon thingie here. synchronicity be damned! ;-)

I'd love to see some discussion of the game mechanics by folks who might be familiar with them. The downloadable the two-page character sheet (and the text of the advanced rules file) suggests the same old White Wolf shell game of design priorities, writ just a bit louder for folks who might today be carrying a skeptic's tin ear: "More than any game you've seen before, this one is about storymaking. Your character's life shall be beautiful, through the elegant mechanical rendering of success and failure in the confrontation of tasks."
Why should I believe that? Those quotes? Art...writing...wonderful concepts...beautiful setting...accurate rendition of paganism?
