One really neat way we used SA's in one character generation session was to see that a character was too one-dimensional.

The player was a Faery hunter, all cold iron and cold stares.  The player just wasn't happy with his SA's, though, no matter how much they seemed to show the character's passion.

We figured out that what was bothering the player was the character's one dimensional, one trick pony idea.  I suggested a Passion, a love perhaps.  The player wrote in a Passion - Love for a Half-Faery woman whose father was the leader of the local Fey Folk.

Suddenly the character had drama and the player was all the mor ehappy for it.

Hope that wasn't too meandering.  Thought maybe a anecdote about how SA's can be used in a positive way might help.

Pehaps a more focused way of looking at this would be, what are bad intentions for SAs? To me, a bad intention would be that the SA never conflict with the character's other motivations, whether they're SA related or not. Personally I think it would be good if the system had an inherent reward for that sort of thing, though I guess it would be easy to house rule: Actions that cause one SA to raise while another SA drops give an additionial point of SA on the raised one, or some points of inspiration, or both.

Funny. That must've been the first house rule I made when reading the book... So I guess what I'm saying is "I agree".
