Anyone develop any proficiencies for Gladiators or Pit Fighters?

Like Trident and Net (though I think this would be a variation of Cut and Thrust)

How about with bladed cesti? like in Conan the Barbarian?

thanks

Edit: and what kind of ATN and DTN would you have for tridents and nets?
Do you know the Riddle of Hârn? (A Hârnic Story Hour with Game Notes using TROS, continued)

Trident and Net:
Use rules for short spear for the trident.. just rename it all.
Use the net to pin/hold opponents using the 'Grapple to Pin' rules on page 66. Except here a tie means that you hit him with the net, but not good enough to entangle him.. so he gets free and you retain initiative. Failure simply means you missed.

Sound good?

:edit to add defensive moves vs the net.
The only moves I see a defender using are partial and full evasion, duck n weave.. block open and strike.. etc. No parrying a net, etc. Also, as for GM's choice.. you might say that on a tie vs a block open and strike, the attacker nets the shield and can use leverage on his opponent.. or make the shield less useful/rip it off his arm. You might need to roll the defender's STR vs the attacker's STR to see if he can hold onto the shield though.

For the Grappling attack. Shoudn't there be a lower target nunber to hit. (I actually don't have experience with weapons in real life) Is it easier to grapple with a net ??

I should hope so.
I suggest an ATN of 5 or 6.
And a DTN much like that of the flail's... due to the almost impossible factor... unless one were to account for the possibility that a defensive manouver might be to net the opponent's arm and weapon and immobilize that..
